Home Organization Tip – Stop Procrastinating

Procrastination is one of our biggest enemies, but we can overcome it very easily. There are many reasons to procrastinate:

we do not have enough time right now – so, instead of doing what we need to do now, we decide to do it tomorrow or this weekend or later.
we are tired – maybe we will have more energy tomorrow.
we just don’t feel like it – maybe we will feel like it later.

How can we overcome these feelings? Take the task that you are not looking forward to doing and break it into bite-size pieces. For instance, if you need to clean the whole house, but you don’t have time to clean the whole house, do something simple. Just clean the kitchen counters or take out the trash right now. If you find that you still have a little bit of time left, pick up one type of clutter. For instance, pick up only trash or dirty clothes that you find in your bedroom. You know the whole house needs to be cleaned. It will take hours to clean the whole house. But how long will it take to pick up the dirty clothes in your bedroom? It will probably not take more than five or ten minutes. And It will make a huge difference if you have a lot of dirty clothes lying on the floor.

Next time you get a chance to do a little cleaning, do the same thing in the bathroom or another bedroom. Before you know it, every room will be clean, but you only did a few minutes worth of work each day.

Home Organization

Don’t agonize. Organize! The importance of home organization is one thing I’d like to touch on. You may not actually realize it, but an untidy and disordered home can have a negative impact on your over-all sense of empowerment. I am a firm believer that when your home is in order, it creates an atmosphere of safety. You know you have non-toxic and safe place to find refuge no matter how stressed you are away from your home. Home organization can apparently change the energy of the place. Come to think of it, if you are too preoccupied with many things early in the morning plus you are in a hurry trying to obtain your hubbys pair of pants or shirt each morning, it will create a hysterical energy at home. But then if you know the place where it is and can hand it over to him right away, then it really make a difference, the energy is serene. Furthermore, it might enhance your relationships likewise. No more controversy about where something is because everyone realizes where it is. Visualizing the advantages of home organization is really the easy piece. Understanding the way you are going to do it is more difficult. But instead of trying to do it all in one day, decide how much time you have each day to do a little – by simply taking a few little steps every day. It does not need to be overwhelming. Do whatever works best for you, but get started today! How? Here are a few small steps you can take to ensure each aspect of your home remains organized.

To start if off, find a permanent place for one thing in your home. Its as easy as that. One of the best ways to get your home organized is by just giving every item in your home a place where it “lives.” Try to seek a place everyday for a thing/item in your home that is currently homeless. Make sure that everyone in your home knows where that items home now is. Two of the vital part in a home that is often seen messy is the kitchen and the closet. Starting from the kitchen, toss one thing from this part of your home that you do not use. Note that most of the home organizers follow the usual yet an important role in organizing home which is to unclutter all the unnecessary things leaving only the significant ones. Your regular everyday trash does not count here. It has to be something that has been hanging around your kitchen for a long time and is something that you know you do not use. I have included this home organization tip as a daily one because the kitchen is one of those places in the home that tends to collect things. Gadgets, spices and that great item that was on sale for such a good deal but is something that your family will never actually eat. If you do not use it or do not like it, toss it out or donate it. It is just hindering you in your home organization journey. Get your closet organized too. I think almost everyone can relate to this so well: the messy-closet-syndrome, often because there are simply too many clothes for the space. Closet organization should be started off by maximizing your closet space, you can do that by using these closet systems materials: hanging rods, shelves, drawers and many others its up to you to discover the other accessories that you think you could use. Another thing, take one item everyday from your closet that either no longer fits you or that you know you would not be caught dead in anyway. For that, you can avoid that messy-closet-syndrome thing. Now youll have your organized closet ready for the everyday wardrobe battle.

Home organization is not actually all about a system of rigidity. There are so many ways to organize your home. But at the end of the day, how you organize and arrange your home should reflect your values and who you are. It should be a place or system that helps you become a better of whatever-you-are. In short, just relax, take it all in, and whatever system is working for you, and then work that system!

Home Organizing

No doubt, any normal person would cringe at the sight and immediately feel an overwhelming sense of anxiety creep up. The answer is organization. Not only does organizing things within your home keep everything looking neat, but it also makes it easier to find important documents and cuts down on excess clutter, which can attract dust mites and all other sorts of allergens that can affect your health. It’s in your best interest to learn how to be organized!
Not all people are neat freaks. For example, whenever I go home to visit my family in New York, I joke around that my brother’s bedroom is sort of like the “black hole” for bedrooms because you walk in and you cannot find anything. There are piles of clothes thrown everywhere, papers stacked up in haphazard piles and countless knick knacks strewn about. It always amazes me that he is able to find anything at all.

Apparently, there is a method to his madness though. However, if you are ever planning on having anyone over, chances are that it will pay to be a little more organized.
One example of how it pays to be organized can be seen when I received a notice from the IRS last year. As it turned out, I was being randomly audited for taxes that I had filed from when I was in college several years ago. I wasn’t worried because I knew exactly where to find the information for that tax year. If I hadn’t been organized, I doubt that I would have found the information that they were looking for.
When I was in college, there was a girl on my cross country team who was notorious for being a “slob”.  She would leave dirty piles of laundry on the floor in her dorm room, and the garbage would overflow to the point where there would actually be trash on the floor. Eventually, things got so bad that when one of the dorm checks was performed, the fire marshal was actually called in, and she got in a lot of trouble because she actually had garbage piled so high that it was blocking the sprinkler system in the room as well as the exit. On top of this, she had a problem with rodents that had begun to make their presence known in the room.
Obviously, the above situation is a bit extreme, and my former teammate was given 48 hours within which to straighten up the mess in her room; otherwise, she would have been kicked out of the dormitory and been forced to pay a hefty fine. The point is this: organization ranks right up there near cleanliness. The more organized your home is, the more presentable it will be not only to those who come to visit with you and your family, but the more presentable and welcoming it will be to you when you walk in the door.
